A Green Bay man accused of selling marijuana was sentenced to two years of probation recently. That was after a judge stayed a sentence of three years and six months, which would have included 18 months of confinement, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette.
The man had been charged with three counts of the manufacture and delivery of THC (less than 200 grams), as well as two counts of possession of non-narcotic controlled substances. However, he was only sentenced on one count of the manufacture and delivery of THC; the rest of the drug charges were dismissed.
He was arrested last September after an informant apparently purchased marijuana from him. Instead of the lengthier sentence, the man was ordered to spend four months in prison as part of his probation. He was also ordered to maintain sobriety, pay court costs and obtain full-time employment, or part-time if he attends school.
Police claim that when the man was arrested, he had money from drug transactions, and over $4,400 was found in his car. The informant, working for the Brown County Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration, says he made three separate purchases from the man for various amounts from late August to the first week of September of last year.
The transactions apparently took place in various parking lots in Oconto Falls. One purchase was allegedly for one ounce and cost $320; another one-ounce purchase was apparently for $325; and a final, two-ounce purchase on Sept. 7 totaled $650.
